August 29th - No in-person Sunday gatherings or online church.
On Sunday, August 29th, you will be able to team up with some people from CFC and help in our organized serve opportunities. Or you can simply serve with your household or lifeteam with some ideas from below.
ways to serve:
Clean 1st street 9am-
Meet at Yokes Supermarket at 9am, you will be given some gloves, litter pickup sticks, and garbage bags. The vision is to walk 1st street down to the Maverik station, cross the street and walk back down towards the Yokes stoplight. Depending on the numbers, another group might walk 1st street down towards downtown and back.
Expect about 1.5hrs of work.
The Clothing Bank 11am -
Located at the bottom of the Wren Pierson center, the clothing bank will need some assistance in folding and sorting clothes, along with the possibility of building a new sorting table for the volunteers. Expect about 2hrs of work.
If you can do some woodworking, let us know so we can build some things!
Freezer Meal Prep at CFC 9am -11am
At CFC from 9am - 11am, come to the church to make bulk freezer meals for families throughout the upcoming year.
We will have all the supplies to make those freezer meals. We ask to not have younger kids present (less than 5yrs) as it will be a busy kitchen environment.
Free Haircuts at CFC at 1pm -
At CFC from 1pm - 4pm, there will be free back-to-school haircuts for kids. If you can cut hair, let us know, want to help set up, come early at 12:30 pm.
Other Ideas to love our City and neighbors:
Take a family walk and pick up trash
Go to your favorite park, clean up the grounds (trash, weeds, etc.)
Make a meal for someone
Write some encouraging notes to people in your neighborhood
Help a neighbor with a project
Walk your local school grounds and clean up.
Hold a free carwash in your driveway
Pay it forward at a local business
