CHENEY FAITH CENTER
FACE COVERINGS NO LONGER REQUIRED
(May 18, 2021)
Let me begin with a great big, THANKS!
Thank you so much for being a great church during this challenging season of life. As we followed God’s word by obeying the authorities above us and placed the medically vulnerable above ourselves we wore face coverings, socially distanced, and took additional precautions as a church. All this with the encouragement of unity and love at CFC.
The CDC recently made the decision that face coverings are not required by some (vaccine or previously had COVID) but still required by others. While we are thankful for the forward progress, we believe that the results of this new CDC guideline can create more disunity as a faith community if there are requirements on some people and not others. We also believe that those who are medically vulnerable have had the opportunity to make the best decision for their health moving forward.
With this in mind, and in the effort to continue towards unity, we will no longer make face coverings a requirement at CFC and the ministries that we host. I want to encourage all of us to be respectful, loving, and supportive of anyone's personal decision to wear a face covering or not. We will also not be asking anyone if they have been vaccinated or have had COVID.
We believe this stance honors the Lord and keeps the unity of CFC a priority moving forward. Thank you for committing your lives to helping people know Jesus and live for Him daily.
